Barry Dorrity

I have been working with ceramics since I left college in 1973, initially in the Midlands, a founding member of the Midlands Potters. I have now retired from teaching and consider myself as a part time potter. I volunteer at the school where I finished my teaching ceramics as well as informally teaching a few students at my workshop.

I established my current workshop in 2000 when we moved to our current home in Rusthall, near Tunbridge Wells. I am mainly a thrower, making a range of domestic ware that is reduction fired to 1280c. In addition to my domestic ware I enjoy modelling onto pots, most of these are loosely inspired by places and landscapes I have visited.

In addition to exhibiting through the KPA I have been selected to be part of the KPA stand at Art in Clay Farnham. Additionally, I sell my work through Gallery 35 Cranbrook, local fairs and craft markets with occasional commissions.
