Being an avid mudlarker I feel truly grateful to be able to combine both of my passions to create ceramic pieces inspired by the River Thames.

I love the mystery of the river finds – the untold stories and echoes of the people who lived and worked alongside the river, I often incorporate these into my work and use a variety of alternative firing techniques to create an aged patina suggesting a sense of age to the pieces. I often add layers of text that change in the smoke firing resulting in snippets of a story that often cannot be read in its entirety.

Having worked in clay for many years I love the endless possibilities of working with this incredible material. I hand build and throw and generally feel I am having far too much fun in creating unique pieces of art!
