Nicky Gregg
I have always loved being creative. I went to art college to study graphic design and have been a graphic designer for all of my working career. I decided to go to evening classes to study ceramics and instantly fell in love with the whole process of making glazing and firing. I now have my own pottery studio and have been a ceramic artist for the past 25 years.
I make ceramic animals which are my own design and are influenced from my graphic design background. They are quirky with a happy humour. I love the contrasts between matt black clay and shiny white glazes.
My main focus is to create positive pieces that people fall in love with, need to hold’ and that make them smile. Each animal is individually hand sculpted so every piece is unique with its own character.
